The Renewable Energy Center of Hárskút began its operations in January of 2003 with the purpose of establishing a renewable energy park whose operations are sustainable based on environmental and economic factors.  Also people can see the different environmentally-friendly technologies and processes up close, hopefully drawing ideas and inspiration that they can use to reform their own lifestyles.

The first visible building in our demo park is the Ecohouse of Hárskút, where single-family residence scale renewable energy systems can be viewed in operation. If you would like to familiarize yourself with solar collectors, solar cells, windmill, biomass furnaces or are interested to learn more about our experience, ask for an appointment.  Our colleagues will explain the function of each piece of equipment, share our experience, which can assist in making your decision, should you be interested in installing such systems in your own home, or planning an energy-conscious lifestyle.

During your visit, you can see our bio-goat family and sample our various flavors of goat cheese, and other bio products.  You may also view the biomass production process.

If you see something in the demo house that you like, technical manuals and books are available for purchase that can help you gain extra knowledge regarding the product.

It is also for smaller, larger groups to visit.  In either case, we ask you to notify us in advance!
